Visitor Visa (Subclass 600)
Subclass 600 visa is Australia’s latest visitor visa, applicable to those who want to travel to Australia for tourism, business or family visits. It is a temporary visa.
Streams:
- Tourism stream: applicable to those who plan to travel to Australia for vacation, leisure travel or to visit relatives and friends. If you apply for the visa in Australia, you must be in Australia when your visa is decided, and vice versa.
- Business visitor stream: applicable to those who plan to travel to Australia for business activities, e.g. business people travel to Australia for a short business visit, including attending meetings, negotiations or inspections. You must be outside Australia when you apply and when your visas are decided.
- Sponsored family stream: there must be a sponsor who meets the conditions for the visa application, and the sponsor may be required to provide a security deposit. This visa can only be applied outside Australia, and visa holders are not allowed to apply for any other visa in Australia.
- Approved destination status stream: the applicant must be a citizen of the People’s Republic of China and intends to travel to Australia as part of a tour organised by an approved travel agent. This visa can only be applied outside Australia
