Student Guardian Visa (subclass 590)

This type of visa is for international students who are under the age of 18 or over 18 but need to be taken care of for special reasons. The validity period will be determined by the visa validity period of student visa and the visa holder’s age.

 

This visa can be applied together with student visa, or applied after the granting of student visa. Please note that students must list their family members on their first student visa application, regardless of whether their family members intend to travel to Australia. Family members not listed when submitting the student visa application will not be able to grant this visa unless they become family members of the student after the granting of student visa. And they will need to resubmit student visa application, including information about family members.

 

The holder of student guardian visa can only study courses for no more than 3 months. If you want to study courses for more than 3 months, you must apply for a student visa.

 

Eligibility:

– Be the student’s parent, custodian or relative who is 21 years or older

– Have enough money to support yourself and the student during your stay in Australia

– Be able to provide accommodation, welfare and other support

– No family members under the age of 6 (except in special circumstances)

– Be a genuine temporary entrant

– Have proper insurance

– Meet health and character requirements

 

Documents Checklist:

– Passport, Letter or Offer/COE, visa grant letter of the student (not required if the application is submitted with student visa)

– Your passport, photo, ID card, notarized certificate of former name, notarized household register, notarized birth certificate, notarized certificate of kinship with the student, etc.

– Your salary certificate and approval letter of leave, proof of economic ability, such as bank deposit certificate, time deposit certificate, bank statement, real estate certificate, etc.

– Overseas health insurance

– Certificate of no criminal record

– Medical certificate or receipt of medical appointment, etc.
